We Love Manassas

February is a month about LOVE. Valentine’s Day brings a brightness in what could otherwise be a cold and dreary time. The fact that it’s been unseasonable warm just makes it harder when the temperatures turn down again, as they most likely will. But we can enjoy the beautiful day and turn our attention to what and who we love. We are also spending some time this month reflecting on the love of family, friends, neighbors, and community,  Manassas is a great place to live, and weld like to share with you some of the things we love best.

Everything We Need

There’s a lot to LOVE about a town that has so much to offer.

Shopping -  All of the big box shopping, grocery, mall, and small retail shops are available up and down Sudley Rd. There’s actually so many retail options in Manassas that people come from all over the area to do their shopping. If when people are looking to support local and small businesses, there are farmer’s markets and boutiques, mostly located in the historic area. Many people feel good about supporting local crafters, food producers, and retailers, while purchasing something original and unique.

Transportation - Having a train station right in the center of town makes commuting to Washington D.C., or anywhere in the metro area convenient and easy. Many people want to live in Manassas, but work in or closer to the city - this way they can maximize their professional opportunities while living in a much quieter and affordable area.

Family Fun Activities - Manassas has the only indoor roller skating rink in the region, and it’s been thriving for many, many years. kids and adults come from all over to participate in open skate, parties, and events. Parents can drop their teens for an afternoon of skating fun, and feel good that they are having safe fun. In the summer, Splash Down Waterpark is another outlet for kids, adults, and families to have fun in the sun. It is waterslides and cool pools that attracts people from miles around.  Harris Pavilion has ice skating in the winter, so there’s something to do with the kids all year long.

Adult Fun - The Manassas area is home to a number of wineries, breweries, and distilleries. Most of these venues have a rich activity schedule to create excitement and interest. They are great places to learn more about the production process as well as socialize with friends, or just enjoy a unique experience.

History - Manassas is rich with history. The American civil war battle of Bull Run was fought here and Bull Run park holds a powerful remembrance. There is also a Manassas museum to expand your historical awareness. One of the greatest treasures of Manassas is the historic area downtown. It’s like walking back in time, with the old style buildings and storefronts. Historic Manassas hosts a lot of events and activities, such as the Christmas Parade and several art festivals. Access to Harris Pavilion for many community events gives the area a “town center” feeling and deepens our sense of community.

As you can tell, we LOVE Manassas! If you do too, or you’d like to learn more about the area, please reach out and let us show you how you too can LOVE where you live.
